If you live in Ludlow then one of the healthiest ways is to walk into town! From most parts of town it is a 15-20 minute walk. There happen to be about 8000 of us living within easy walking distance of town so you will not be on your own.
You might like to try a bike ride into town for a change! Sundays are often the best days to try out your cycling skills as town roads are generally quieter. Make it an outing. For example, you can cycle along the Linney and up Dinham to the Market Square. Those coming from the Steventon and the south side of town can travel alongside Temeside and up Lower Broad Street, Silk Mill Lane and Camp Lane to ride alongside the old town walls.
Did you know? The National Cycle Network passes within one mile of half of the population according to Sustrans. Route 44 passes through Ludlow!
Ludlow’s railway station is a short walk (about 5 minutes) from the town centre. There are connections at Crewe and Manchester for the North, Shrewsbury for Birmingham and the Midlands and the Cambrian Line and connections at Newport (Wales) for London and the South East and Bristol and the South West.
We know that for many people living near to Ludlow the only way will be the car so we are hoping that you’ll load it up with friends and relatives to make the journey worthwhile and more energy efficient!
Alternatively you can organise a car share online using the dedicated Ludlow Green Festival page on the GoCarShare website. Drivers simply add their journeys to Ludlow Green Festival on this page, and passengers can find and book seats to get a cheaper, more social, and of course greener way to travel. Likewise, passengers can post their requests on this page, and drivers can find them.
Please park at the Ludlow Eco Park (just off the A49, SY8 1ES if using sat nav) to reduce congestion in the town centre, it is a leisurely 1.2 mile walk into town (there is no park and ride bus service on Sundays).
