Ludlow Green Festival 2026
Building a Resilient Community
This year’s theme is ‘Building a Resilient Community’ – recognising what we are already doing to help cope with the reality of Climate Crisis. Whether you’ve changed your garden planting to cope with increasingly hot and dry weather or started minor repairs on your clothes, it’s all about making good and feeling better about the future.
There will be lots of free activities for young and old, all aimed at helping us understand different ways of becoming more resilient, understanding nature and working together as a community.
- Children and families can play the giant ‘Create Your Ideal Community’ game, with lots of props to choose from. All day 10am-4pm
- Another activity will be centred on a big map of Ludlow, inviting everyone to share their knowledge of activities and projects so as to build a picture of provision (and gaps)… and have a conversation about where you might get involved. All day 10am-4pm
- At midday, we will come together for a Ceilidh to get us all energised and smiling! 12 noon
- Local artist Sue Gould will be running nature ‘still-life’ art sessions throughout the day. All day 10am-4pm
- Mayor Di Lyle, an active member of Ludlow 21, will give a short address at 10.45.
- There will be live music all day and soapbox slots for those desperate to tell us about their resilient undertakings – click here for more info. 10am-4pm
- ‘Chill Zone’ – a quiet place open to all: Castle Bookshop Garden, entrance through shop. 12 noon-3pm
- There are more than 40 stalls – a mix of local and national environmental groups, including Ludlow Incredible Edible, Master Composters, CPRE, Flight Free UK, Greenpeace, Friends of Mortimer Forest, Ludlow Fair Trade, Ludlow 21 Energy, Men’s Shed and Ludlow Repair Café as well as ethical local small businesses, selling craft, art and artisan food and drink. All day 10am-4pm
- Food and Drink on the day includes a café with home-made cakes, local ice cream, horsebox bar and a mix of street food vendors.
- Near the Festival site is an excellent example of a community project, Wigley’s Field Allotments, where you can meet enthusiastic local organic growers who will be delighted to share their growing tips. All day 10am-4pm
Ludlow 21
Ludlow 21 is a local voluntary group established in 1998 to promote sustainable living in the Ludlow area within a fair and just global society. We are an independent body with no political or council ties.
We are the principal independent voice for local sustainability, with very active groups that focus on fair-trade, recycling, transport, education, food & farming, swifts and more – not least organising the Green Festival!
